The Carnival of Manaus will be marked by the Samba School´s parade, showing plenty of energy and excitement. Not even the rain that falls during this time of year will affect the joy of the public that awaits this great spectacle at the Manaus Sambodromo.

Ten samba groups will perform in a 12-hour parade, showing the beauty of the Amazon through the region`s rhythms and beats. The schools will be divided into different groups such as Special and Popular.

The State government is investing about 60 thousand reais into the event, which will feature renowned artists and beautiful dancers.

The official program of the Carnival of 2010 will begin on Friday (February 12th until 14th) with the parade of the Popular and Special dance groups at the Sambodrome .

• On Saturday the 13th, the dance schools and the Special Group will perform at the Sambadrome
• On Sunday the 14th at 19:00, there will be a Carnival customs parade at Largo Sao Sebastiao where the crowd can choose the best float
• On Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th the Carnaboi will occur in Sambadrome
• On Tuesday the 16th, the Carnaboi will occur at the Sambodrome
