From the inception of Selenetur Travel and Tour Agency Ltda we set about providing travel services and experiences in a responsible and creative manner. Carlos Augusto is an Embratur certified tour guide who is also certified by the Centre of Instruction of War in the Forest, CIGS, for passing a jungle survival course taught by the Brazilian military. Carlos firmly believes in the development of tourism directed towards the preservation of the Amazonian jungle, thereby protecting its biodiversity as it is one of the biggest ecological symbols in the world with extensive flora and fauna. He has been working since 1992 in the receptive tourism field and fluvial area with his own boats. Because of deforestation and land disputes, Selenetur Travel's motto and extended commitment has long been "To know, to preserve."

Carlos offers extensive first-hand experience both in the midst of the largest tropical forest in the world and navigating the largest river in the world. After participating and gaining knowledge in ecotourism, Carlos' aim is that tourists, after participating in and gaining knowledge from ecotouriam actvities, will return home not only with wonderful memories of Manaus and the famous Amazon jungle, but also as conscious and informed defenders of the environment and promoters of the importance of protecting nature.
