Presidente Figueiredo Falls

President Figueiredo is the capital's closest tourism attraction outside Manaus. Located 107 km from Manaus, accessed through the highway BR-174, this is a privileged location, which is already shape with a tourism vocation due to its rock formations, which together with the local rivers. It creates several waterfalls and streams, in addition, to caves and mineral water springs. It is no surprise that the area is named the Waterfall`s land.

The reserve of Figueiredo has around 300 falls, 85% are unknown by the locals and just 14 are accessible by people. Presidente Figueiredo was founded in 1981 by the government military, together with the highway construction, which started the works during the 70's.

The place covers an area of 24.781 km2 and has beautiful environmental reserves.

The Jaguar falls

A beautiful fall located in the middle of the jungle. It can be accessed only by walk. The trek takes about 30 minutes. After this nice walk through the jungle, where you can see some trees species endemic of that area, you can have a very nice bath to refresh yourself.

Urubui Rapids

Urubui is considered as the best place because of its easy access for weekend trips. Every weekend, you will see thousands of people coming from Manaus to have some pleasure in the area. There are other places just for visitors to visit and swim. The area has many restaurants serving all kinds of foods, bars services with beverages, candy shops and a large parking area.

Santuario Falls

Located on the way to Balbina Lake, where the hydroelectric is located, Santuario is another touristic complex with a small hotel, which is close to the falls, offers a place to overnight. The main fall in this place has 8 metres high fall with the same name. The entire place is surrounded by trails and paths, which tourists can use to observe the local fauna and flora and the beauty of the waters flow between the rocks.

All this natural wonders are right in the middle of the jungle. Most of the areas are protected and became environmental parks. It is maintained by private owners to avoid any kind of damage or invasion in this green area.

• 10:30 Arrival at Pres. Figueiredo downtown with a short tour in the city.
• 11:00 Visit Jaguar Falls, walk in path to enjoy the nature and see the rapids with English speaking guides.
• 12:30 Leave Jaguar falls and lead to Urubui rapids, where you will stop by local restaurant for a nice lunch with some local`s dishes, tastefull food.
• 2:00 Leave the town and you'll visit Santuario Falls, a marvelous place in the middle of the jungle. There's an opportunity to swim in this place.
• 3:00 Leave Santuario Falls and come back to Manaus.
• 5:30 Arrival in Manaus and drop off.
