Amazon Tupana - Jungle Lodge

Your first impression of the lodge, when you arrive there, is that this is a place in the middle of nowhere. Listening to just the natural sounds, many birds can be spotted in the area.

To get there, the trip takes 4 hours, starting in Manaus where early in the morning you will be picked up by car and then after 30 min. you will take a speedboat and cross the meeting of the waters where the Solimoes River joins the Negro, forming the might Amazonas River. Arriving in Careiro village there will be another car waiting for you to start the off road trip which probably will take 2 hours. When you arrive at the Tupana River will take another speedboat to arrive at the lodge spending about 30 min in this boat.

The reception in the hotel will be with local fruit juice and all of the first instructions about the lodge. Then you will meet you room. In the lodge there will be specialized tour guides ready to pass you all the necessary information about this beautiful place.

The lodge is located in the middle of the highway (BR-319), the famous TransAmazonica. The area that surrounds the hotel is considered very rich in fauna and flora because there are not many people living there except the natives. You will be impressed with this amazing Amazonian rainforest.

The stay in the jungle hotel is all made in packages, which varies between 3 days and 2 nights until 6 days and 5 nights, all planned to offer the best about Nature`s feeling and jungle experience.

The lodge is equipped with rooms specially developed in rustic style: 6 rooms (Standard) with fan and private bath, with garden view. 4 rooms (Superior) with fan, hammock, chairs and private bath, with river view. 1 Bungalow with balcony, hammock, fan, mini bar, chairs and private bath, with forest view.

Day 1

- 7:00 am - Pick up at your hotel in Manaus, transfer to the lodge
- 11:30 am - Arrive at Amazon Tupana Lodge. Then welcome drink and to accommodation.
- Lunch, then depart in motorized canoes for a reconnaissance tour of the area. Then we return to the lodge.
- After dinner, take a tour in motorized canoes to watch the nightlife and listen of the sounds of the forest, but still don't forget the main attraction, the spotting of the caimans

Day 2

- Breakfast then depart for a jungle trek led by a professional guide. You can see the beauty and feel the energy of the Amazon rain forest.
- Return to the lodge, then lunch. We then take a tour in motorized canoes on a fishing trip to learn about the large variety of four kinds of fish, especially the famous piranhas.
- We sail back to the lodge where you will watch one of the most spectacular sunsets.
Dinner.

Day 3

- Sunrise trip in small rowing canoes to observe the bird wildlife and also the legendary pink dolphins.
- Return to the lodge for breakfast. Then, depart in motorized canoe to visit a native family's house where you will learn about their culture and their customs.
- Return to the lodge for lunch at 1 pm.
Check out and depart for Manaus. You will arrive at Manaus at around 5 pm.

Day 1

- Breakfast then depart for a jungle trek led by a professional guide. You can see the beauty and feel the energy of the Amazon rain forest Return to the lodge.
- Lunch, then take a tour in motorized canoes on a fishing trip to learn about the large variety of four kinds of fish, especially the famous piranhas.
- Sail back to the lodge where you will watch one of the most spectacular sunsets.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 3

- Sunrise trip in small rowing canoes to observe the birds' life and the legendary pink dolphins
- Return to the lodge for breakfast.
- Depart in motorized canoes to visit a native family's house where you will learn about their culture and their customs.
- Return to the lodge for lunch.
- Depart for an overnight in the jungle - during the trek to the campsite, instructions on jungle survival techniques (how to find water, food, first aid, etc.) will be demonstrated.
- Overnight will be in hammocks with mosquito nets.

Day 4

- Trek back to the lodge to have breakfast.
- Depart in rowing canoes like the natives, to observe the nature between Igapos (flooded forest) and Igarapes (small creeks) Return to the lodge for lunch at 1 pm, check out and depart for Manaus.
- You will arrive at Manaus at around 5 pm.

Day 4

- This day is promising to be the highlight of your adventure! After breakfast, begin a full day jungle trek which a professional guide will explain the fauna and flora and also the techniques of jungle survival.
- A camp with material exclusively found in the area will be built and the overnight will be in hammocks with mosquito nets.

Day 5

- Return trek to the lodge for breakfast. Free morning for relaxing.
- Lunch. At 1:00 PM check-out and departure for Manaus where we will arrive around 5 PM.

You will depart from Manaus by car to Ceasa port where you will take a speed boat to cross the Amazon River and see the Meeting of the Waters.

You will arrive at Careiro Village and will take another car to go through the highway Transamazonica. Some parts are paved and others are not. This is a nice off road adventure.

You will arrive at Tupana River and take another speedboat that will spend 30 minutes to reach up to the lodge. All the trip will take about 4 hours.
