Janauary Full Day Tour

A tour has been developed for those who want something more in just a single day.

This full day tour shows the Amazon and its beauty in different ways. During the day, you will see the amazing Meeting of the Waters, where the Negro and Solimões Rivers meet to form the world-famous Amazon River. You will also visit floating communities, where the native's houses, churches, schools and hospitals are built over huge logs which float on the water.

You will pass through a natural water canal, which is called Xiborena, to spot some animals, and then travel up the Solimões, the muddy water river, where you will see the Vitorias-Regias (giant lilies), beautiful aquatic plants, which only grow in this environment because of the specific PH of the water. Then you will have a chance to taste the delicious local cuisine in a floating restaurant, which is located at the Janauary Lake.

In the afternoon you will visit the floodplains in speed boats and learn about this curious environment, go fishing the famous river piranhas, which is known by local people as 'evil fish'. Then you can experience the beauty of a jungle sunset. When the darkness falls and the mysterious nights come, you will see a different world: the jungle at night. You will have a chance to listen to the jungle's nocturnal symphony and spot animals such as owls, night hawks and the Amazonian alligators. You will be guided by the experienced jungle guides, who have very large knowledge about the local fauna and flora.

• Walk on bridges over flooded area to see the giant water lilies Vitorias-Regias.
• Take a tour by speedboat to visit the area, fish and watch the sunset from the boat.
• Take a night tour to spot the night animals and alligators.
• Return to Manaus after the alligator spotting.
